Cyndee has been a Registered Nurse for 32 years in various clinical and management settings. (Intensive Care, Dialysis, Operating Room, Occupational Health and Regional Nurse for Senior Assisted Living Communities.) She holds a BS in Health Arts from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL and a MS in Organization Development from Loyola University in Chicago, IL. She began specializing in Memory Care in 1999. She is a Certified Validation Worker. She is one of less than 300 Certified Validation Group Practitioners in the United States. She has given multiple presentations for professional, non-professional and family caregivers on a variety of dementia related topics. As a result of her experience, she develops exceptional strategies for care and communication with people who have dementia. She is able to educate and train others how to create the holistic development of a failure free environment for the person with dementia, and those providing care, in diverse settings. Her program on Understanding the Fine Points of Dementia reveals the expertise she brings from many years of experience and education.
She is the owner of Dementia Remembers; a consulting company specializing in education, training and care counseling for healthcare professionals, non-professionals, first responders and family members. She is proficient in teaching/training professional, non-professional, first responders, family caregivers and friends of caregivers how to listen and communicate with someone who has dementia. Her participative, dynamic and fluid presentation promotes learning in any environment. Her expertise in leadership development and employee coaching to improve and sustain performance improvement and competitive advantage for professionals, non-professionals and first responders is commendable.
