“I was referred to Cyndee, as a knowledge resource, whenever my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. I found her expertise and insight to be valuable in aiding my understanding and acceptance as we progressed through each phase of his illness. Because of her support, understanding, and validation, I was able to be an active participant in my Dad’s transition. I can’t imagine having gone through this difficult process without her. What a gift!
I would recommend Cyndee, without hesitation, to anyone who is a caregiver to an Alzheimer’s patient.”
Blessed by Cyndee
I have known Cyndee for 7 years. She helped our family make the courageous step of allowing my mother in law to live her life surrounded by people that understood her life of living with Alzheimer\'s. She taught us about the positive aspects of what most people consider a devastating illness. We learned how to affirm her emotionally and \"live the moment \" she was in...not the moment we wanted her to be in.
I have the joy of pioneering Alzheimer\'s with adults with Downs Syndrome at Brookwood Community in our memory care home. We have used several of Cyndee\'s guiding principles as we enrich the lives of those we have been called to serve.
Houston is blessed to have such a wonderful resource available to help professionals, family and friends support loved ones, with dignity, in the journey of experiencing memory loss.
Cyndee Frey has been a trusted resource to our family for many years now. She\'s helped guide our journey from the time we entered the intimidating prospect of choosing specialized dementia care. What\'s been unique about our experience with Cyndee, among all the wonderful people we\'ve met along the way, is her capacity to support us individually. She\'s been able to create purposeful activity that preserves my Mother\'s dignity and, at times, lay my recurrent guilt to rest which preserves my emotional health. I appreciate Cyndee\'s frank, yet sensitive, communication style which has directed my expectations appropriately throughout Mom\'s illness. Honestly, sometimes it\'s just her calm demeanor and thoughtful encouragement that mean the most.
I first met Cyndee 2 years ago when we worked for the same company. We shared an instant bond with our love and passion for people with dementia and Alzheimer's. I have worked first hand with her in a Validation Group and attribute much of my knowledge and insight to her. She truly has a love and understanding of dementia that can't be obtained in a classroom alone. I'm sure you will have the same love for her and what she does as I do, just meet her and you will see and better understand what I am talking about.
It's Been an Honor
Cyndee\'s passion for memory care comes from her soul, and she relates to people with heart, tenderness, and courage. It has been an honor to work with someone so attentive, responsive, compassionate, and graceful in sharing what she knows and in her eagerness to continue learning more. I adore working with Cyndee Frey; it is something I treasure.
